Stephen Hawking lecture at Leuven University

On Tuesday, 25 October, 2011, Stephen Hawking, one of the most brilliant physicists of our time, gave a public lecture to an enthusiastic, full-capacity crowd in the Pieter De Someraula. In the Stadspark, an additional 3,000 people watched the lecture, broadcast live on a large projection screen. You can watch the lecture and presentation here. Hundreds turn out at Caltech for Stephen Hawking

Many show up early in the day for free tickets to hear the 'rock star' of physics speak, in what has become an annual appearance at the Pasadena campus.
With his computerised voice, motorised wheelchair and an intellect that seems to leave mortal men far behind, Hawking is among the best-known physicists ever. Die-hard fans, many of them youthful, started lining up early in the morning to get coveted free tickets to hear him speak at Caltech Tuesday night, school be damned.
