Update:
The 38 - 85 metre wide asteroid 2012 DA14 made a close pass, travelling at 5.49 km/second, to the Earth-Moon system on the 16th February, 2012 @ 06:19 UT ±00:07.

The Lunar Distance (LD), the distance between Earth and the Moon, equals 384,401 km, (or 0.00256 AU).

Ed ~ the asteroid will return on the 16th February, 2013 @ 00:32 UT ±03:18 (Minimum Distance 0.00017 AU)

Ed ~ it seems that  the asteroid 2012 DA14 made an extremely close pass of the Earth on the 18th February, 2012.
