NGC 582 (also IRAS 01291+3313, MCG 5-4-65, UGC 1094 and PGC 5702) is a magnitude +13.2 barred spiral galaxy located 200 million light-years away in the constellation Triangulum.
The cluster was discovered by German-Danish astronomer Heinrich Louis d'Arrest using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/17.5 Merz-Refractor at the Copenhagen Observatory on the 9th August 1863.
