Indonesians Tuesday were flocking to a paddy field to see what some believe is a crop circle created by an unidentified flying object (UFO). The internet has been abuzz with talk of the the 70-meter-wide circle, which was first seen on Sunday on a paddy field in the Sleman district of central Java island, though experts believed it was designed by people. A satellite photograph showing a 60-meter Star of David carved into a Palestinian field during the offensive against Hamas in Gaza last winter, slid under the army's radar screen when it examined the Goldstone Report's allegations of misconduct against the IDF. Phoenix crop circle may predict end of the world Crop circle experts believe the latest pattern to be discovered, a phoenix rising from the flames in Wiltshire, may give a warning about the end of the world. The 400-foot design was discovered in a barley field in Yatesbury near Devizes and depicts the mythical phoenix reborn as it rises from the ashes. Investigators claim more formations are referencing the possibility of a cataclysmic event occurring on December 21, 2012, which coincides with the end of the ancient Mayan calendar.

An astrophysicist saw the image posted on the internet and made the connection between the design of the crop circle and pi.
Whatever your theories about their production, there is no question crop circles are an intriguing and beautiful phenomenon. Blue Mountains resident Megan Heazlewood will give a presentation on crop circles at Penrith library theatrette on Sunday. Her presentation will canvass all the different theories on what crop circles are and how they are formed she won't be pushing one particular idea.
