Intense Low-Pressure System Crossing New Zealand
MetService meteorologists have issued a heavy rain warning for Bay of Plenty and northern Gisborne.

"An intense low-pressure system is expected to cross central New Zealand on Thursday.  It is likely to bring wind and rain and snow" -  Bob McDavitt, MetService Weather Ambassador.

Rain currently affecting northern and eastern parts of the North Island is likely to be heaviest overnight in the ranges of Bay of Plenty and northern Gisborne.
