The Swift satellite has managed to observed supernova 2007cv  on 2007-06-30.76 UT.  Ultraviolet/Optical Telescope (UVOT)  magnitudes were measured as:
V = 16.0 ± 0.1 (206 s exposure time),
B = 16.4 ± 0.1 (206 s),
U = 16.3 ± 0.1 (206 s),
UVW1 [181-321nm] = 18.5 ± 0.1 (412 s),
UVM2 [166-268 nm] > 19.4 (117 s),
UVW2 [112-264 nm] = 20.0 ± 0.2 (824 s).

In a second observation on 2007-07-02.77 the supernova had  brightened to:
 V = 15.7 ± 0.1 (203 s),
B = 15.9 ± 0.1 (203 s),
U = 15.6 ± 0.1 (203 s),
UVW1 = 17.6 ± 0.1 (406 s),
UVM2 > 19.5 (125 s),
UVW2 [112-264 nm] = 19.8 ± 0.2 (812 s).

A magnitude 15.3 supernova, 2007cv,  was discovered  on the 29th June, 2007, by the TAROT collaboration,  in the elliptical galaxy IC 2597 in the constellation  Hydra.
The Supernova is located 24" west and 6" south of the centre of the galaxy.

Position(2000): R.A. = 10h37m45s.4, Dec. = -27°04'57"

As yet the Type is unknown.
