On Oct. 3, 2007 Category One Typhoon Lekima was bringing winds and rains to central Vietnam. Lekima's centre was still off the coast at 6:00 Zulu Time (2:00 a.m. EDT), but on its westward track, the centre of Lekima will make landfall later in the day. At 2:00 a.m. EDT, the centre was near 17.6 degrees north latitude and 107.3 degrees east longitude. It was moving west at 8 knots and had maximum sustained winds of 65 knots with higher guests. Forecasters from the Joint Typhoon Warning Centre note that the storm will make landfall along the central coast of Vietnam and dissipate rapidly.
