The University of KwaZulu-Natal will be hosting the South African Astronomy Workshop entitled "SALT and the VO" this year in Durban. The two day event, running from the 26th-27th October, will focus on SALT science, SALT proposal submission procedures, SALT data reduction and the VO.
The program consists of SALT science and instrumentation related talks, in addition to a series of demonstrations and "hands on" sessions introducing the tools required for the preparation of SALT observing proposals and SALT data reduction. An introduction to the VO and VO tutorial sessions will also be held. Astronomers and engineers from the SALT partnership will be in attendance to run the SALT related sessions and are joined by representatives from the UK VO AstroGrid project.
