Supernova 2007sa

A type Ia, magnitude 15.4  supernova, 2007sa,  was discovered on the 21st November 2007 by the  Lick Observatory Supernova Search, in  the  irregular galaxy NGC 3499 in the constellation Ursa  Major.
The supernova is located  1".8 west and 7".7 north of the nucleus  the galaxy.

Position(2000):  R.A. = 11h03m10s.78, Dec. = +56°13'26".3

NGC 3499,  at magnitude 14.4, is within the reach of 10-inch telescopes.
