An magnitude 17 object, having at first the appearance of an asteroid, was discovered on April 18, 2008 by the  LINEAR  monitoring telescope.
The  cometary nature was  revealed by confirmation observations  made by E Reina (Masquefa Observatory), E Guido and G Sostero (Mayhill Observatory, ), J Mr. Aymami (Observatorio Carmelita, Tiana), R. Apitzsch (Wildberg) and R. Naves (Observatorio Montcabre).
