Comet P/1997 V1 (Larsen)  was recovered by Jim V. Scotti  using the Spacewatch telescope at  Kitt Peak on June 9, 2008.
The orbital elements of the comet P/2008 L1 (Larsen) indicate a perihelion passage on August 25, 2008 at a  distance from 3.3 AU from the Sun, and a 10.9 year period.
