Toymaker Hasbro is launching a handheld device that lets users watch 3D videos and play 3D games on their iPhone, it was announced today. The device, called My3D, attaches to an iPhone or iPod Touch and looks like a pair of binoculars. It is expected to be sold for around £30 when it launches in the UK after Christmas. Read more

An amateur astronomer in Arizona has used his Iphone to take a snap of Jupiter and its Galilean moons. To get the snap Weasner used the afocal technique with a 2x Barlow lens, a 15 mm eyepiece, and a lunar filter, to reduce the brightness slightly. In fact the only thing lo tech in the operation was the iphone which was only the 2G version.
