Fairy Devices Inc a Japanese company that was formed by researchers at the Waseda University have released StellarWindow. StellarWindow transforms your laptop or tablet PC into a real-time guided planetarium. A USB stick that incorporates tilt sensors and a magnet lets the software know which direction the laptop is pointing. The USB stick can also be attached to a telescope via a USB extension cable that is plugged into any windows computer. The guided tours will tell you which way to look to see certain highlights. It will also guide you to your own specified night sky targets. Handily, the software incorporates voice recognition, so you just need to speak the name of the object you want to observe.
