The Walker County school system is constructing a new planetarium, after 10 years of planning.
The $750,000 facility will be built at the Science and Technology Centre on Pond Springs School Road in Chickamauga. It will replace the original planetarium in Rock Spring that was built in 1966 and closed in 1998.
A groundbreaking was held Friday, Sept. 19.
