Comet P/2008 QP20 (LINEAR-Hill) was discovered by Rik E. Hill (Catalina Sky Survey) on September 23, 2008. The comet was also discovered on August 25 by K. Smalley (Minor Planet Centre) using the LINEAR telescope, and catalogued as 2008 QP20. The orbital elements of the comet indicate a perihelion passage on November 2, 2008 at a distance of 1.7 AU from the Sun, and with a 6.53 year period.
