According to NORAD, various pieces of satellite debri re-entered  the Earths atmosphere on the 23 and 24th February, 2009.

The KOSMOS 2445 satellite launched on the 14th November, 2008,  from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome, Russia, will re-enter the Earths atmosphere on the 11th February, 2009 @ 12:16 UTC ± 24 hours.

According to a Space Forces spokesman, Lt. Col. Alexei Zolotukhin, a Soyuz-U rocket carrying a Kobalt-M optical reconnaissance defence satellite took off from the Russian Plesetsk spaceport at 6:50 p.m. Moscow time (15:50 UT) on Friday.

"The satellite reached the designated orbit at 6:59 p.m. Moscow time and was named Cosmos 2445. The command and measurement centre of the Space Forces took control of the satellite at 7:00 p.m." - Lt. Col. Alexei Zolotukhin.
