The STS-119 mission concludes with a successful landing of the Discovery orbiter at the Kennedy Space Cente after travelling more than 5.3 million miles. The orbiter spent eight days docked to the International Space Station, leaving behind Japan's first long-duration space flyer, astronaut Koichi Wakata, and adding more power capability to the station. Discovery returned to Earth with astronaut Sandra Magnus, who spent 134 days aboard the orbiting outpost. STS-119 was the 36th flight for Discovery and the 125th of the Space Shuttle Program. Today's landing is the 70th at Kennedy.

NASA Defers Setting Next Shuttle Launch Date
During a thorough review of space shuttle Discovery's readiness for flight, NASA managers decided Friday that more data and possible testing are required before launching the STS-119 mission to the International Space Station.
Engineering teams have been working to identify what caused damage to a flow control valve on shuttle Endeavour during its November 2008 flight.

NASA decided Friday to push back the planned launch of Discovery to at least Feb. 27 to give engineers more time to carry out tests aimed at making sure critical valve trouble doesn't endanger the shuttle and its seven-member astronaut crew.
Liftoff time of Feb. 27 would be 1:32 a.m. Landing would be on March 13.

NASA on Tuesday delayed next week's launch of space shuttle Discovery while it runs tests to determine whether newly installed valves would cause serious damage if they broke during liftoff.
The launch will take place no sooner than Feb. 19, seven days after the shuttle was originally scheduled to take off on a space station construction mission. The delay is needed to make certain that Discovery can fly safely with the valves that control the flow of gaseous hydrogen into the external fuel tank.
