Robby the Robot	Permalink

For many years, Robby the Robot was on display at the Movie World / Cars of the Stars Museum in Buena Park, California. The museum later closed. Fred Barton, a robot historian, is credited with saving Robby from ruin and restoring him to his original state. Robby then became owned by film director William Malone. Read more __________________

Forbidden Planet flying saucer	Permalink

Forbidden Planet is a 1956 science fiction film directed by Fred M. Wilcox, with a screenplay by Cyril Hume. It starred Leslie Nielsen, Walter Pidgeon, and Anne Francis. The characters and its setting were inspired by those in William Shakespeare's The Tempest, and its plot has many similarities. Read more __________________

Forbidden Planet May Be James Cameron's Next Movie As the name suggests, Forbidden Planet is based on the classic 1956 science fiction movie of the same name. Till now most have assumed this would be a remake, but since I have the J. Michael Straczynski written script Cameron's planning to use sitting in front of me on my desk, I can tell you that it is absolutely not. Instead what JMS has done is craft a well-thought out, straight-up prequel. More than that, he's laid the groundwork for a whole franchise of Forbidden Planet movies which could eventually lead to a remake of the 1956 film down the road, but not until they've told at least two completely new stories on screen.
