Hacker loses extradition appeal UK hacker Gary McKinnon loses his latest High Court bid to avoid extradition to the US for hacking into military computers.
A British computer hacker begins a last-ditch challenge tomorrow to stop his extradition to the United States where he could face up to 70 years jail. Gary McKinnon, 42, is bringing a judicial review challenge to the decision by the Home Secretary that he should be extradited over allegations that he gained access to and damaged 97 American Navy, Army, Nasa and Pentagon computers. At the same time, he has lodged a request with the Crown Prosecution Service to be prosecuted in Britain on a lesser charge.
