A magnitude 15.1 supernova, 2009im, was discovered on the 24th August, 2009 by K. Itagaki (Japan) in the edge-on spiral galaxy NGC 1355 in the constellation Eridanus. The supernova is located 21" west and 1.6" south from the center of the galaxy. As yet the type is unknown. Position (2000): RA = 03h33m22s.07, Dec = -04°59'56.4" z = 0.013100
