According to US Air Force officials, the GPS IIR-20 (M) satellite will not enter into operational service this year due to a design fault that has caused signal distortions. Ground Engineers are working on the problem of the degraded signal accuracy.
A ULA DELTA 2 rocket body launched the GPS IIR-20 (M) global positioning system satellite on the 24th March, 2009 from the Cape Canaveral air force base.
