A well-known astronomer has been honoured on Australia Day for something he just can't help himself doing: talking to the public about astronomy.
Professor Fred Watson, astronomer-in-charge of the Anglo-Australian Observatory, was today appointed a Member in the General Division of the Order of Australia for services to astronomy, particularly the promotion and popularisation of space science through public outreach.
