Orion EON 80mm f/6.25 ED Apo Refractor Telescope Fast f/6.25 optics and all-machined, premium mechanics make for an awesome imaging telescope. 80mm doublet lens crafted with FPL-53 "ED" glass to virtually eliminate chromatic aberration. Machined aluminum 2" Crayford focuser has dual-speed focus knobs with 11:1 fine-focus ratio. Extremely portable at 15.5" long Retractable lens shade, dovetail mounting bar, finder scope base, and carrying case included. When we introduced the 80mm ED refractor a few years ago, it became an instant hit, especially with astrophotographers. With the Orion EON 80mm Extra-Low Dispersion Apochromatic Refractor Telescope, we've incorporated faster optics and all-machined, premium mechanics to present what we believe is an even more desirable telescope for the serious celestial imager, or for the visual observer who wants a compact telescope of uncompromising quality. The EON 80ED is really an imager's dream telescope. The 500mm focal length yields an f-ratio of 6.25, faster than the standard Orion ED80, which is f/7.5. So the EON 80ED Apochromatic Refractor Telescope gives you brighter images, a wider field of view, and allows shorter exposures of deep-sky objects. The 80mm air-spaced doublet lens is crafted with one element of FPL-53 extra-low dispersion, "ED", optical glass, which virtually eliminates the effects of chromatic aberration. All air-to-glass lens surfaces are fully multi-coated for maximum light throughput. Baffles inside the optical tube, glare threads in the focuser drawtube, and a retracting lens shade/dew shield eliminate unwanted glare to deliver crisp, high-contrast images. The extremely portable EON 80ED measures just 15.5" long with the lens shade retracted, making it nice and easy to transport to your favourite dark-sky site for imaging sessions in the included hard carry case.
