A strong magnitude 6.5 earthquake occurred at 17:34:29 (UTC) on Saturday, June 15, 2013, in the Nicaragua region, 50km West of Masachapa, Nicaragua, at a depth of 35.8 km.

A strong magnitude 6.3 earthquake occurred at 11:03:15 (UTC) on Wednesday, August 3, 2005, located in Nicaragua.

The quake occurred about 40 km ESE of Rivas, and at a depth of 10 km.
