Students excited about opportunity provided by donated telescopes
A rare gift found its way to Coshocton High School this summer, and a couple of teachers are working to come up with the best solution to get the most from it. Lisa Akers, eighth-grade earth science teacher, learned a local resident was moving and wasn't taking all of this possessions with him. Tom Dobbins, director of research and development at Organic Technologies for 10 years, moved to Fort Myers, Fla. Two of the items he didn't want to take with him were a 12.5-inch Newtonian Reflector made by Meade Instruments Corp. and a 6-inch reflector -- in other words, telescopes. Read more
