Content from the BBC's Natural History Unit has been made available for internet users to access for free. The Open Earth Archive will include previously unseen clips from new wildlife series Planet Earth. Footage can be viewed, downloaded and edited into personal projects as part of the Creative Archive Licence. The scheme, which already released the BBC's news archives earlier this year, allows the material to be used for non-profit programme-making in the UK.
The BBC has opened its Creative Archive to the public, allowing users to be VJs and remix BBC content. The BBC's "current music" radio station, Radio 1, is running a competition in conjunction with the release. Unfortunately, the license the content is released under requires that you are a UK resident to use it
