Title: The daylight fireball of January 20, 1988 Authors: Aikman, G. C. L., Younger, P. F., & Weichert, D. H.
This exploding fireball (bolide) displayed a number of remarkable (although not unique) phenomena. Estimates of the end height (23km) and end velocity (2 to 5 km sec^-1) of the luminous trajectory are low values strongly favouring the survival of meteoritic fragments, which most likely landed in or near the Moyeha Valley of west-central Vancouver Island.
