Prehistoric Nidderdale Project

Some facts about Nidderdale's pre-history are well known but fieldwork recently carried out by by landowners and community archaeology projects in the area is bringing many new and exciting features to light - such as these  at Dacre and Gouthwaite.

Nidderdale is one of the Yorkshire Dales (although outside the Yorkshire Dales National Park) in North Yorkshire, England. It is the upper valley of the River Nidd, which flows south through the dale, forming several reservoirs including the Gouthwaite Reservoir, before turning east and eventually joining the River Ouse.
