Comet P/2005 R2 = 2009 B3 (Van Ness) was recovered on the 31st January, 2009 by Gary Hug (Sandlot Observatory, Scranton). The comet P/2005 R 2 (Van Ness) was discovered on the 10th September, 2005 by Mr. E. Van Ness (LONEOS). The orbital elements of the comet indicate a perihelion passage on the 16th June, 2011, at a distance of 2.1 AU from the Sun, and a 6.33 year orbital period.
