The meteorite fell on June 20, 1935 near the hamlet of Bungkal (geographical location approximately 7°45'S, 107°42'E), - 20 miles south of the town of Madiun. Madiun is a white, veined olivine-hypersthene, L6 chondrite. It can be classed as such on the basis of its petrography and chemistry, uniform olivine (Fa24.2) and pyroxene (Fs21,2) end total iron content of 23.7 wt % Fe. Read more
The Madiun (L6 Chondrite) meteorite fell in Jawa Timur, 20 miles south of Madiun, Indonesia, on the 20th June, 1935. A total mass of 400 g was recovered.
