Bob Veilleux, a retired astronomy teacher who works as a part-time educator at McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Centre, is a meteorite buff with a collection of more than 250 at his home in Hooksett. But he still has yet to see a meteorite found in the Granite State. In 1985, Veilleux finished second in New Hampshire to Christa McAuliffe, who went on to be selected for the Challenger mission through the nationwide Teacher in Space project.
