Comet C/2011 Q1 (PANSTARRS) was discovered on the 20th August, 2011, by the Pan-STARRS 1 telescope. The preliminary orbital elements of the comet indicate a perihelion passage on the 25th October, 2012, at a distance of 3.2 AU from the Sun.
