Comet C/2011 Q3 (MCNAUGHT) was discovered on the 29th August, 2011, by R. McNaught (Siding Spring Survey). The preliminary orbital elements of the comet indicate a perihelion passage on the 4th February, 2012, at a distance of 1.61 AU from the Sun.
