Tiny Toshima island big on natural attractions

On the small island of Toshima, roughly 140 km south of Tokyo's Takeshiba Port, a narrow forest path covered with damp leaves and lined with moss-covered trees weaves toward a lookout near the 508-meter-high peak of Mount Miyatsuka. If you're unlucky and hit misty weather at the lookout, you might just be able to see down to the island's rocky coastline. But if the skies are clear, a stunning view unfolds over the thousands of camellia trees on the conical island to the azure Pacific Ocean and the neighbouring island of Oshima.
