This stone and another, which resembled it closely and was reported to have fallen near Coutances (possibly the Nicorps meteorite), were given for investigation to a committee of the academy consisting of Fougeroux de Bonderoy, Cadet de Gassicourt, and Lavoisier.

The Nicorps (Stone) meteorite fell in Basse-Normandie, France, on the 11th October, 1750.
An unknown total mass was recovered.
