Confirmed: A magnitude 12.7 Type Ia supernova was discovered on the 9th December, 2011, in the lenticular galaxy NGC 4984, in the Virgo constellation, by K. Itagaki. The supernova is located 16.6" east and 6.1" south from the center of the galaxy. Position (2000): RA 13 08 58.38 | Dec -15° 31' 04.0"
