At the fall of Mocs, Hungary, which occurred February 3, 1882, at 3 145 P.M., an intensely brilliant meteor was seen in a cloudless sky, then a rolling noise and violent detonations were heard. At the spot where the light was first observed, a white, cirrus-like cloud extended in the form of a white stripe from west to east. About a thousand stones fell at this time, the largest of which weighed 70 kilos (154 pounds).
