Comet P/2012 C3 (PANSTARRS) was discovered on the 26th January, 2012, by the PANSTARRS telescope.
The preliminary orbital elements of the comet indicate a perihelion passage on the 11th October, 2011, at a distance of 3.68 AU from the Sun, and an orbital period of 29 years.
