In a series of papers published this week in Science, NASA researchers highlighted "strange hollows" found on planet Mercury. These hollows have irregular shapes, and appear to be formed in the bright deposits excavated by meteorites which collided with the planet. Messenger probe team is not sure what caused then, but similar features have been discovered on the Red Planet in the past. Read more (576kb, PDF)
