Comet C/2012 L2 (LINEAR) at magnitude 13.1 will pass 0.83° from the magnitude 6.5 open cluster NGC 129 in the constellation Cassiopeia, at 14:00 UT, 13th January, 2013.
Comet C/2012 L2 (LINEAR) was discovered on the 1st June, 2012, by the Lincoln Near Earth Asteroid Research (LINEAR) Survey. The preliminary orbital elements of the comet indicate a perihelion passage on the 10th April, 2013, at a distance of 1.1 AU from the Sun.
