A new generation of infrared telescopes are giving unprecedented views of the intricate clouds of dust and gas from which new stars and planets form in our Galaxy. Dr Rob Simpson, Oxford University, describes an exciting project in which members of the public can explore beautiful infrared images of these clouds to help learn how new solar systems are born; and how you could get involved.
