NBN Co confirms Western Australian satellite stations
NBN Co has decided to build a satellite ground station near a former tracking station that was involved in NASA's Apollo Moon project. The Shire of Carnarvon Council has approved negotiations for the sale of land adjacent to the former Overseas Telecommunications Commission (OTC) satellite earth station. Read more
The second man to set foot on the moon, American astronaut Buzz Aldrin, will touch down in the Western Australian town of Carnarvon today to officially open a new Space and Technology Museum. The museum commemorates the Carnarvon Tracking Station which was involved in the NASA space program, including the 1969 moon landing. Read more
