Comet C/2012 V2 (LINEAR) makes its closest approach to the Earth (2.078 AU) on the 19th September, 2013.

Comet C/2012 V2 (LINEAR),  around magnitude 8.9, will pass 1.26° from the magnitude 11 spiral galaxy NGC 2835 in the constellation Hydra at 19:00 UT, 18th September, 2013.

MPEC 2012 - V58

Comet C/2012 V2 (LINEAR) was discovered by LINEAR telescope on the 30th October, 2012.
The preliminary orbital elements of the comet  indicate a perihelion passage on the 18th August, 2013, at a distance of 1.4 AU from the Sun.
