Search operations continue in a joint effort with staff from state government and the armed forces.

From the Carrizal to the El Centenario and Chametla  the meteor impact area is being sought. Dozens of residents of the capital of the state heard a loud bang at approximately 16:04 pm today.

Ed ~ Apart from a few fake videos and photos there has been no word from the region. The seismic recording is also suspect in that it is very short in duration, and unlike what one would expect with an airburst or meteorite event. The conclusion is that nothing major happened, and very possibly it was nothing other than rumours.

Bottom line: There is basically no evidence to show that a meteorite impact occurred.
