NASA reports a fireball as bright as full moon spotted

What NASA calls a "major fireball event" saw an object brighter than the full moon Wednesday flash across the sky in the southeastern U.S. The space scientists say the nocturnal visitor probably weighed about 110 pounds, was 16 inches in diameter, and was traveling at about 53,000 miles per hour when it hit the atmosphere.
