NGC 1038 (also PGC 10096, UGC 2158, MCG 0-7-76 or GWT 388.90) is a magnitude +13.5 spiral galaxy, located 277 million light-years away in the constellation Cetus.
The galaxy was discovered by American astronomer Lewis A. Swift using a 40.6 cm (16 inch) Alvan Clark and Sons refractor at the Warner Observatory, East Avenue, Rochester, New York, on the 17th October 1885.
