NGC 7426 (also UGC 12256, MCG 6-50-12, GWT 515.12 or PGC 70042) is a magnitude +12.5 elliptical galaxy located 245 million light-years away in the constellation Lacerta.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 18th October 1786.
