NGC 711 (also PGC 6940, UGC 1342, MCG 3-5-24, ZWG 460.38 or NPM1G +17.0073) is a magnitude +13.3 lenticular galaxy located 226 million light-years away in the constellation Aries.
The galaxy was discovered by French astronomer Edouard Stephan using a 80.01 cm (31.5 inch) reflector at the Marseille Observatory on the 4th November 1881.
