NGC 1591 (also PGC 15276, ESO 484-25, MCG -4-11-15 and IRAS04274-2649) is a magnitude +12.9 barred spiral galaxy located 189 million light-years away in the constellation Eridanus.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflecting telescope at Feldhausen, Claremont, Cape Town on the 6th November 1834.
