Meteor may have caused massive blast near provincial border

A massive blast wave felt by residents living near the provincial border east of Cornwall indicates we were likely treated to a meteor event, said an expert.
People living from the west end of Montreal to Cornwall heard what some have described as a loud boom at around 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Expert says flash of light and booming explosion were probably a fireball

A Canadian expert says a bright flash of light accompanied by sounds of a booming explosion in parts of Eastern Canada were probably a good-sized fireball.
Numerous people posted Twitter messages reporting a blue flash and a thundering boom in the Montreal and Ottawa areas at about 8 p.m. eastern Tuesday.
